Amazon.com: Drawing on the success of her first book, Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui, Karen Kingston has met popular demand by expanding on the indispensable activity of clearing clutter. There is very little of actual Feng Shui here, and certainly nothing you can't get elsewhere, but the clutter problem gets full and complete treatment. Kingston reminds us that clutter is stuck energy that keeps you stuck in undesirable life patterns. Therefore, you can "sort out your life by sorting out your junk." Kingston covers the reasons we keep things as well as the amazing stories of people who have cleared their clutter away. More than just junk, clutter is all those things that have negative symbology and that collect stagnant energy. This latter can also apply to bodily, emotional, and spiritual clutter, all of which Kingston describes with characteristic passion. In an age of accumulation, it's good to see a book that frees up life again.

From AudioFile: Organizing consultants come and go, so it's a treat to hear one whose ideas are presented so clearly and with so many thoughtful suggestions that she rises above the status of a commodity. Clutter is the manifestation of negative inner states such as am-biguous purpose, unfinished emotional business, negative family traditions, and conflict with others. But unlike psychotherapy where you do the inner work first, with this approach you organize first and then look at what your reactions tell you about yourself. Down to earth, remarkably practical, and delivered with charming sincerity and conviction, this is an almost certain cure for any clutter addict who listens to the whole program. Your spiritual guide to clearing space, February 26, 2003
Reviewer: T. Zervaki from London United Kingdom
Clear your clutter with Feng Shui" by de-cluttering specialist Karen Kingston is a must-have book if you are in the process of clearing your space. The book is short and concise, however, very detailed and well written. KK explains what clutter is, why we have it and why is not good for us. She identifies clutter in various areas of the house/office and suggests innovative ways of ditching it for good! In addition, for those who know about Feng Shui, she recommends decluttering based on the Bagua map. Very good book indeed and happy clearing!

I thought that this book explained the basics of feng shui very well. I tried it and things turned around. It is one of the best books out there on this subject.

I had the opportunity to read this book over a 10 day period. Fun book, and I have cleaned up, helped other clean up too!

Oddly, I have subsequently quit smoking!

Hoping to see some increae in financial chi energy :-)

very light reading, but still helpful, January 4, 2003
Reviewer: A reader from Newton, MA USA
This book is a very quick read. I found it helpful in identifying why it's so difficult for me to throw out old correspondence, photos, momentos, and the like. I'm not a fan of Feng Shui (This was my first exposure to it), but that aspect didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the book.

I would rate it higher but I feel like I only got about 15 pages of useful information out of it.

Something's happening ;-), January 2, 2003

I just read some of the reviews about this book and have to say this:
Since I bought this book three days ago some strage things happened to me. I broke a nail, a part of a dental inlay broke off, rain leaked into my appartment.

Do I think any of those things are coincidental? Not really. Sometimes I break a nail, the dental inlay is only temporary and will be replaced later this month anyway (okay, sooner now *lol*), and we had exceptionally strong wind and heavy rainfall in the last days and that particular window has leaked more than once (noone's found out how though, it's fine most of the time, even when there is heavy rain).

Do I think any of those things have anything to do with buying/reading this book? Not really, at least they probably don't *g*

I like the book, I want to get rid of my clutter and it promises to be an interesting read. I like the concepts of feng shui but don't know enough about it to actually say "this book is spot on and absolutely correct".

I like the way the author writes and don't really mind wether she's teling the truth or not ;-) I want to get rid of clutter and if this book can "get me move stuff" it's great, if it's only a good read before dropping of to sleep that's fine also.

If you're a feng shui expert this book might not be for you, if you're just someone like me who likes a good read no matter about what, buy it and enjoy it. I don't think this book will make miracles happen to me like a vacation in australia (I wish) or a wonderful career opportunity.

Btw: I have read better books, but it's definitely worth its money and will stay in my home for a while, unlike other books :-)

Neat Book!, December 24, 2002

This is a pretty great book to learn about Feng Shui. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to learn about it and actually Feng Shui their home.

Many positive changes in 6 months, December 18, 2002
Reviewer: A reader from Oakland, CA United States
This book is a quick read and very inspirational. After applying some of the principals, getting rid of unused items I had many postive changes come about. Even though I wasn't looking for a job change, I was contacted by a headhunter for a new job that included more money; took a 3 week vacation to Australia during my transition; bought a new car and just closed escrow on a new condo. I certainly didn't think I needed a total change in my life when I read the book. The concepts simply made perfect sense and I was open to what the universe would bring me.

Want to get motivated? Read this Book!, December 13, 2002
Reviewer: Dietta L Stewart from Columbus, Indiana United States
After I finished reading this book, I wanted to try everything in it! However, the feng shui way is not for me. But the basic tips on clearing clutter from your life I found truly helpful. The author sounds like an interesting and organized person and the personal illustrations she used added to the content and made it fun and inspiring to read. This book would be a good one to read at least once per year.
